Students will learn to take vital signs, perform CPR and first aid, respond to mock emergencies, and safely administer medications, injections, and IVs. Through labs and investigations - including the dissection of an eyeball - they will explore microorganisms, vaccines, antibiotics, and disease outbreaks. The course also examines legislation, bioethics, transplants, and organ and blood donation, along with current issues such as the opioid crisis and its effects on healthcare.
